This page has information on how I create folders within my
PC Crafter Hugbug Deluxe Browser to hold other graphics from
other artists and/or my own creations. I do this so that I can utilize
the drag and drop feature (while holding down the shift key) of
the browser to get the white out around the graphics using some
of the software programs I own. And it also helps me organize my
graphics I use for crafting.

This page also shows screen saves for how I create folders on my
computer to download specific items, such as clipart, templates, or documents, pdfs etc. to help me organize the many files that I have
on my computer.

Important to note:
I create these mini-tuts as an aide or help
for my fellow PCCrafter Hugster's .
Please understand that I am only a HugClub member subscriber.
I am not employed or affiliated with PCCrafter.com or
any other graphic site from which I may download for
free or purchase graphics from.
Any information, graphics, or excerpts quoted from the PCCrafter.com site, DJs Creative Treasures, Kathleen's Kollections, or the PCCrafter forums, is for informational purposes only.

Note: these are the steps that I follow.
You may find alternative ways to do this process, this is only
an example of how I organize my downloaded material from
the internet.
See below - Alternatives for adding other clipart / and or folders -
utilizing the built-in features of the Deluxe Browser
Holly's instructions copied from PCCrafter Instruction Junction

The following are screen shots of how I create folders in the
Deluxe Browser for downloading other collections

1. Locate on your computer the folder where your
PC HugBug Browser is and the place you download
and install the hugclub content or graphics you purchase
from PCCrafter and install from

2. Open the PC HugWare folder, then find and open the Collections folder

3. Then click on the Images folder

4. Then choose the Painted Folder

5. From here you can create a New Folder
for this example I will create a new folder to hold
templates / graphics that I want to download that are
already filled in and ready to print or work with

I created a new folder and named it 4filledtemplates

Now I will visit the website Treasures from DJ
and click on her Free Printables link and download some
of her wonderful templates that are filled in with backgrounds
and graphics, all ready for quick print outs

**Note - in the above screen I wrote to right click on
image but first you would click on the graphic itself to bring it
up full size, then right click on it and save as - to the
folder C:/PC HugWare/Collections/Images/Painted/4filledtemplates

As you can see in the Painted folder above - I have created several
different sub folders other than the regular PCCrafter artists content
installed. I always make sure that I download any other graphics
to the folder that I will associate with a particular graphic or creations.
I have folders just for graphic backgrounds, for different holiday
or seasons, for blank templates, for jiffy covers, for my own project
creations, 4 sigtags, etc.

This next screen is showing some of the images I downloaded
from Treasures by DJ into the Deluxe Browser

The above is an example of an entire set I downloaded
of Pink Butterfly filled templates, there are candy bar wrappers
boxes, seed packets, a clock face, and gift tags

DJ has so much to offer for free and for sale too,
her site is terrific, there are project ideas, directions,
and much more. Please support her site, visit often,

The following are screens for how I create folders on my C drive for downloading other collections, or information etc. and then additional screens on how I take graphics from one folder
and move/or copy  to my Hugbug Deluxe Browser

1. go to Start Menu, and/or  My Computer, Go to your "C" drive

2. Choose from "File Menu" -  choose "New" and then "Folder"

3. Type in a name for the folder - name it something you will remember, and associate with everything you plan on putting or saving to that particular folder.

This next screen shows some of the many individual folders that
I have created on my own C drive for downloading items from the internet

See in the above screen shot
that I have created many folders, if the folder has
images in them, I am able to see a few of the images
contained in that folder.

Note: Remember, that within each individual folder, you can create subfolders.
*for example, when I download fonts from the internet, I download them to a folder "4Fonts04", and
I create subfolders, and name them the date I am downloading each font or fonts. By doing that
I am able to install the fonts, all at once from any particular dated folder.

I have a folder with some images that I downloaded and now  I want
them available to work with from my PC Crafter Hugbug Deluxe Browser

In the next example, I  open the  folder with items that I
want to copy and move to my Hugbug Deluxe Browser
So I will choose the images that I want to copy

Now I will copy them to the Deluxe Browser, following the
path on my computer - when prompted to where I want to
copy these items to:
C:/PC Hugware/Collections/Images/Painted/4mycreations

*note I created the folder "4mycreations" by following the
same steps outlined above:

Going from "My Computer", then the" C" drive, then to the folder
"PC HugWare", then the folder "Collections",
then to the folder "Images", then to the folder "Painted",
then from there I chose "make new folder"
and created "4mycreations". I also created other folders.
such as 4KathKollect, for some of my Kathleen Kollections images

The next screen is of the PC Hugbug Deluxe Browser
with the 4mycreations folder open to the images that were
copied and saved to that particular folder

The next screen shows the 4KathKollect folder open
this folder has the free images that Kathleen offers
and the "Ladies kollection" images, that I purchased

I also have separate folders for other Kathleen Kollections
I purchased - example: for the Pumpkin Soup Kollection
I named the folder PumpkinSoupKK

One of the reasons that I like to have my clipart, creatables,
digital photos, etc.  all within my Hugbug Deluxe Browser is that,
I am able to drag and drop images from  different collections
into my software programs
such as:
Microsoft Picture It Photo 2002
and create  composite images
See example below:

Another example this time, taking a digitalphoto I  saved to the "photos" folder
that I created in the browser
and a window graphic from the PCCrafter Creatables collection
Scatter Sunshine

**Note: image quality has been reduced for posting images on this page

Alternatives to my method, utilizing built-in features
of the Deluxe Browser

When I posted this tutorial link in the instruction junction on the PC Crafter forum, Holly responded with the following
alternative instructions for adding folders to the deluxe browser:

Another way to add non-PcC graphics is to scroll past all your creatables in the deluxe browser list and you will see "My Computer" at the bottom of the list. Expand the My Computer by clicking on the + (plus) symbol and then navigate to where ever it is you have your file/folder. Once you've found the file/folder just right click on the name of the file/folder and you will see "Add to Favorites" appear and then left click to add it. Now that particular file/folder will appear in the "My Favorites" section of the deluxe browser which is located right above the "My Computer" section you were just in.

Additional software that I own:
Adobe Photoshop, Photshop Elements,Digital Image Pro 10, & Jasc Paintshop Pro 8
and with each program, I am able to drag and drop images from
the browser and have the "white" out, or making the images transparent.

*note: to get the white out, you must click on image, hold down your "Shift" key,
and with your mouse key still held down, drag the image into the
software program of your choice. Do NOT copy and paste, as the
white will still be around the image.

For information about these software programs that I own and/or making images transparent
without the Deluxe Browser, see the info on how I do it on this webpage
