Placing sigtag images found in the PCCrafter Signature Gallery in your Forum messages
This pictorial will take you through the steps of finding sig tag at the
PCCrafter Signature Gallery.

Then finding its image properties and copying them, and placing in your forum profile.

Step 1:
Go to sigtag gallery and choose a tag to your liking, look for your name under the alphabetical catergories. Some names have regular images, and some also have "holiday" themed graphic names. Explore the images. **Note there are some names that have more images than others. If you can't locate a tag with your name, you can contact Sigtag Sam, and request one be made for you, or ask that another pccrafter forum member make one for you and upload it to the gallery.

Also see my other pictorial on posting sigtags and/or other images that are not in the PCCrafter Sig Gallery - http://marynpauln.com/sigtagimages.html

For the following example, I will be choosing a Holiday image from the gallery for the name:

Nancy

Please note - the following screen images were taken while using the Netscape Browser

I will choose the pilgrim tag with the animated signature "Nancy"

Step 2:
Click on that particular image and it will appear in a separate screen

Drag your mouse to highlight the entire long url address that starts with http://
it is located next to Location field
Then press your control key and the letter "C", that will copy the entire long url to your clipboard
This this the entire long url as it was copied: http://mediagallery.pccrafter.com/MediaGallery/Skins/Silver/..\..\Gallery\M-P_Signature_Tags/N_Signature_Tags/
N_Names_Holidays/Nancy Thanksgiving.gif

Step 3:
Take the copied long url to a spot to shorten it - one of the most popular is TinyUrl.com
http://tinyurl.com  (but there are others such as http://www.6URL.com or http://metamark.net/ )

Once at tinyurl, in the shorten it box - place your cursor, and then press your control key and
the letter "V" - that will paste the complete copied long url into the box, then press "make it short"

the output will give you the new short url:

Note: You can test the short url by pressing link beneath the new short one, to test if you see the image when linking to it.  Be sure to highlight with your mouse the new short url, then
press your control key and the letter "C" to copy it to your clipboard.

The tiny url for this image was shortened to: http://tinyurl.com/4z7a3

Step 4:
Go to PCCrafter Forums page and login * or check to see if you already are
Then choose "profile" and login in or press submit button and edit your profile to put this new signature short url in your profile information.
You MUST BE LOGGED IN to edit your own personal profile information
http://messageboard.pccrafter.com/

Step 5:
Then in your own profile page, go to signature section
in this section is where you will "paste" between the image tags
[img] and [/img] the url that you just previously copied and it is now on your
clipboard. Within the signature box - type:
[img] - then press your control key and the letter "V", and it will paste the new short url
then with no spaces type [/img]
**Note it is very important to have NO Spaces in this line and the image tag must be closed
at the end  the forward slash "/" must be placed before the word : img
and the tags must be enclosed with these brackets only [ ]

then save all of your updated profile information.

Now each time you write a post in any of the forums and the box is checked at bottom of message next to the sentence:
"Check here to include your profile signature"
Your tag will show up in the messages you post.

as seen here:

Please see my other pictorial that has other tips and resources for including image tags that are not located in the PCCrafter Signature Gallery. It has links to places that have free tags, how to create your own, finding a spot on the internet to post your tags, and/or other images, photos, etc. within your forum messages. Plus how to find a home on the net to place your project pics, etc.
